Failure turns to success

How I failed
There have been a couple of times I have failed in my classes. The only time I failed classes was during my sophomore year.
Some things that led to my failure were:
Stress
Friends
Bad habits
Very poor attendance
My attitude
Team sports and Drawing & painting
Team sports is a class I took the second semester of my sophomore year.
I actually did enjoy this class but the main reason I failed team sports was due to my horrible attendance that semester. I had a very bad attitude during that time, and I really did not care for the class or getting up every morning and coming to school.
Another class I failed that same year and semester was my second-hour art class due to attendance again.
Drawing and painting was a class I enjoyed more than my 1st hour so my attendance was a little bit better in my 2nd hour than my 1st hour.
Towards the end of the year is when I started to try a little harder to come into my second hour every day.
My second hour was easier to go to because I had friends in that class and I actually liked it I just didn’t enjoy my teacher too much.
Reflection
If I could go back and redo my sophomore year, I'd change the people I used to hang around, with better people who support me and want to see me do better not help me do worse.
I’d want more support and for people to push me to do better but in a helpful way, not a demanding way because I think that’s what triggered me to not want to get up and go to class in the mornings.
I noticed how in-control I always felt I needed to be. I always developed a bad relationship with my mom because of that and my attitude.
A lot of kids might wonder why does my GPA matters, or why do I need a good grade in gym class? The truth is your GPA is dropping or going up every semester whether your turning in your assignments and getting good test grades or not.
Curiosity
“Education is the key to unlocking the world, a passport to freedom” Oprah Winfrey.
As I grow older and more mature, I realize how important my education, grades, GPA, SAT, and other test scores really are important!
Taking high school serious is something I wasn't very good at. I'm now at a place where I don’t care to have friends or to be playing around rather doing work or studying.
Now that I'm further into high I want to do better for myself because this determines what colleges I will be able to choose from and what colleges will accept me.
I think after I found the career path I want to follow, I started getting more involved in school and not having as many absences or tardies. Although I still had many absences and tardies it was not as bad as my sophomore year, so that’s a great start!
